This is family business

…just like Kanye West said!

The “Jessica” in Jessica Raphael Photography is my cousin, so out of every brand I’ve worked on, this one might just take the crown.

Jess has been photographing weddings and families for well over a decade now, and her business has grown so much. Full UK weddings, destinations across Europe, family and newborn shoots. But her branding hadn’t quite kept pace. Her original logo felt a little dated, and it no longer reflected the business she’d built. So earlier this year, she asked me to give it a proper refresh.

We landed on a full logo suite. A Primary Logo, a Secondary Logo for when things need to feel a little quieter, a Brand Mark for the small spaces (social icons, packaging, anywhere a full logo won’t fit), and a Typography Logo for when her name alone says enough. Paired with two typefaces that tie everything together nicely.

The colour palette is where it got personal, because every single shade means something.

Feather, the softest cream, in honour of our Nanny Doreen.
Almond Croissant, her breakfast of choice, despite her still insisting she hates nuts.
Au Naturel, exactly what she is. Beautiful and effortless, no filter required.
Mrs. Dillon, a warm sage green, taken straight from a photograph of her wedding bouquet last year.
September, an autumnal rust, named for the month Jess and Liam are expecting their first baby girl. (Not long to go now!)
Brunette, because if you’ve ever met Jess, that laugh and that hair, you’d know her anywhere.

It’s always special designing for friends, and it’s even more special designing for family.

Once the branding was done, we kept going. Digital brochures for both her wedding and family clients, so enquiries feel as thoughtful as the shoots themselves. A new gift card design. Thank-you cards, because Jess is the kind of photographer who does things properly, and with love.

Seeing it all together, the logos, the colours, the brochures, the little touches, it’s just so Jess. Warm, a bit cheeky, and absolutely stunning, just like her…and her photography.
